This is how it all fits together quite neatly. In this case the bar-end Pod is a copy of a Shimano type... possibly one sold by Rivendell for their "Silver" copies of the original Suntour shifters.

Identifying a retrofriction version is made easier by the slot in the right lever alongside the pivot, for the spring tang/end. With glare you can just discern it, on the nut side of the right shifter.
